A boutique hotel with history in the heart of Barcelona.
Project: Renovation and rebranding from 4★ to 5★ hotel Visit Website
The Casa Sagnier building, originally called the “Casa Dolors Vidal de Sagnier” in honor of Enric Sagnier’s wife, was built in 1892 in one of the most elegant areas of Barcelona’s Eixample neighbourhood as a family home and architect’s studio. The entire concept behind the hotel pays tribute to his life and career. He was one of Barcelona’s most prolific architects.
The hotel has 51 rooms spread across a 7-story building that faces the Rambla de Catalunya and connects, through large windows, with Passatge de la Concepció, a charming small street that has become a local culinary enclave.
Located on the ground floor of the hotel, Cafè de l’Arquitecte is a simple yet delicately designed restaurant, with photographs of Sagnier’s family and handmade items characteristic of an architect’s workshop of the time. Throughout the day, Cafè de l’Arquitecte provides restaurant, café, bar, and cocktail services in a metropolitan atmosphere.
